Couponing is like being a virgin … ya gotta hold out! The #1 rule in couponing is holding on to your coupons for a sale. Just because you have a $1 off of a $7 item does not make it a deal! Wait for it to go on sale and then double, triple, or quadruple up!
Today’s Quick Savings Tip:
Food 4 Less in the greater Chicagoland area has their Downy liquid detergent on sale for $2.49 each (sale ends 10/7). Check your Proctor & Gamble coupons for the $5 off your purchase of 3. Now do the math people… $0.82 each – DEAL
How many are you going to run out and buy? I’m thinking 12 will do just nicely for me; however, there are some purchasing on the upwards of 30+
Being in the Chicagoland area myself, obviously I found great value in this post! Thanks for sharing this quick saving tip with us! Right when I was out of Downy 😉
That’s awesome Ashley! Stock up!
Thanks for sharing. I love coupons and i blog about them often. You make a great point that sometimes it is better to hold out on coupons because there seem to always be a better one right around the corner.
Exactly Nathaniel. I was so close to using the Arm&Hammer coupon just a few days before. A friend of mine said, no no…hold out.
Wow, that’s a great deal! Love the way you compare couponing to virginity — ha ha!
lol, yea I cracked myself up at that one. Glad you enjoyed it Lois!
Savings with coupons is ideal grating the full value of saving is also great. Great tips
Thanks Carolyn, it’s even better with markdown’s.
I wish I was in the area because I would definitely stock up. With three young kids laundry always has to be done.
Get in those groups! You can order coupons as well and just “pay” for shipping. At a $1 or $2 it’s worth it.
I definitely need to start stocking up on detergent, fabric softener, etc. Laundry is piling up while we’re completing our renovation!
Oh yes, and winter is coming too! I hate dragging those heavy bottles around then.
