Welcome to Independent – Smart – DIVA (I-S-DIVA)!
My name is Taya and I grew up on the Westside of Chicago. Now as an adult, I look at our youth and my generation. Pretty much, I’m saddened by all that I see. I consider myself extremely blessed to have grown up in a 2-parent household where both of my parents valued my future. Unfortunately, many people were not as blessed as I was.
I understand what worked for me may not have been the same path others have went through, but all my life I’ve been surrounded by positive influences, including my friends. I don’t have many, and I am proud to keep it that way. There is so much to be learned from keeping a small circle.
Well, the point of this blog, to keep my ramblings short, is to educate and make aware. I plan to educate and make every female aware of how they should be as a woman. I may throw harsh subjects out there and may seem mean about it. However, I believe in spitting out the truth.
I will post topics that readers are interested in knowing about. I will interview whom I consider outstanding women in my life so you all may see what it takes to make it to the top with your family, your education, your career, and your relationships. I want women to know how to carry themselves in public, around their girlfriends, their family, their men, and their children.
Now not everyone may like what I have to say and that is ok. When people say they are not here to judge, I’m not one of them. I am a judger because I feel everyone has the right and the way to change for the better. So if you don’t even like this post, you may hate the next and are welcome to stop reading!
However, there will be posts regarding:
- Women stop feeding your children ramen and budget vegetables for the same price
- Stop getting your hair done weekly while your child is wearing run down Payless Shoes
- Stop telling your “man” to run to Burger King to pick up dinner
- Stop saying “There “ain’t” no jobs out there for me”
- Stop saying, “I don’t know how to be a mother and a wife because my mother wasn’t one”
Ladies, there is always a choice that can be made and many are making the wrong choice. If you are reading this and doing everything right, maybe you need to direct this to a friend because you don’t know how to approach them and tell them this. Direct them here girl, cause us “Westside” girls don’t play and I’m gonna tell it like it is!
